Sununu for governor: NH needs new leadership
Hassan has flooded state agencies with unaccountable cronies, and left them to mismanage state services while she runs for the U.S. Senate. The next governor will need to restock the bureaucracy with competent, diligent public servants, and hold them accountable for their actions.
Republican Chris Sununu is the best candidate for the job.
Sununu would bring years of private and public sector experience to the postion, having worked as an environmental engineer cleaning up pollution, running Waterville Valley Resort, and learning every corner of state government from his seat on the Executive Council.
His opponent, career Democratic operative Colin Van Ostern, has never managed anything larger than a six-pack of yogurt. He has relied on political patronage for his livelihood. As governor, Van Ostern would be a reliable funnel for taxpayer money flowing to liberal special interest groups.
While incumbent Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan fiddles, Sununu is not content to watch state government burn. He has called for the sketchy mental health services contract at New Hampshire Hospital to be reopened.
Chris Sununu’s upbeat leadership as governor would be a refreshing change at the State House.
